The K-5 Science Teaching Certificate Program enables teachers to extend their competence in teaching science in elementary school. It will enhance their understanding of science content, inquiry and problem solving and their knowledge of science curriculum and ways of teaching mathematics to students from diverse and minority backgrounds. Additionally, completion of the certificate will better prepare individuals for teaching in elementary schools that are departmentalized by subjects in elementary grades. Entrance requirements are Bachelor’s degree and a 3.0 GPA in the last two years of college work. This certificate program is open to non-degreeseeking students only.
